News released on 25th May, 2020, indiePlay - the biggest and most influential indie game award event in China are now open for submission from Worldwide.
Started from 2015, indiePlay - China indie Game Awards had successfully be held for 5 years which is no the most powerful indie game award event in China. The event is organized by CiGA (China indie Game Alliance)，supported by indienova, IGDA, indielight and many medias. indiePlay 2020 will open submission from 25th May, covering PC, Concole, Mobile, VR, etc. Submission will close on 24th July, then all games will go to Jury members for reviewing and judge, the judge session will be between August and September，all nominations will join the Annual WePlay Game Expo in Shanghai and the final winners will be announced during the award ceremony during WePlay. WePlay Game Expo had been successfully be held for 3 years which is more like a local Pax-Like event in China which display and explore more contents and experiences around gaming covering games from different platforms, music, arts, merchandise, board games, stage performance, E-sports, etc. It is truly a paradise to all people who truly love games and game cultures. Meanwhile, with combining more new trends contents and cross cultures, it is also a good place to let more people better understand and experience gaming, especially in China. More than 300 games and 100 companies joined the show which attracted more than 17000 attendees in 2 days, some famous game producers also brought exciting to this event including Noriyuki Iwadare，Koji Igarashi，Kotaro Uchikoshi，etc.
Finalists will be selected by Jury Members from gaming industry across game development & media, and further more another round of judging to pick the winner of each award. tens of thousands of dollars in prize money will be awarded to the winners.
There are 11 awards with 4-5 finalists each to be nominated, the nominations can be flexible when there is hard choices among Jury members yet to make special sense to the award or industry. There are some limits for submission, please subject to the detail rules. The Award ceremony will happen during the Annual WePlay game expo at the main stage on the 2nd day. All people on site will celebrate the moment together.
Submissions to the competition are now open to all independent game developers. Important dates for indiePlay 2020 are as follows:
